Welcome Ceremony Lecture
Tuesday 19
19:45 Reials Drassanes
Servicing and exploration are key application areas for robotics and automation in space
The space requirements for ultra light weight arms and hands with minimal power losses as well as the need for powerful telepresence and shared autonomy concepts stimulate the development of innovative robotic systems, which are excellently suited for future service, assistance and surgical applications on earth, too. The talk briefly outlines historical milestones and present projects and developments which are suited to push the necessary technologies massively forward. And it has turned out meanwhile that sensors and computational methods for modelling planetary surfaces (e.g. the MARS-Express-Mission) are excellently applicable for terrestrial 3D-world modelling in the context of virtual tourism and cultural heritage.
How to get to Reials Drassanes
Welcome ceremony will be held in Drassanes building (old XIV century shipyard in Barcelona). Drassanes building can be reached by Metro (recommended) or by bus.
Conference Banquet
Wednesday 20, 19:45
The Conference Banquet will be held in the Forum 2004 facilities, in the Centre de Convencions building (where the Forum Internacional de les Cultures, Barcelona 2004 was celebrated). The Forum area can be reached by Metro (subway, underground) or by bus.
The Young Professional lunch will be held in Room H2, in the Conference site.
The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society invites its young colleagues (typically within the first 10 years of career) for taking an active role within the society and exchanging vision and ideas with the committee. A free sandwich lunch will be served.
Farewell
Friday 22, 13:00
The Farewell will take place in the Parc de Cervantes gardens, in the same place of the Tuesday-Thursday Catering and Picnic area.
