The Frankfurt Trade Fair in Frankfurt am Main is in the public sector of Hesse and Frankfurt. It is the world's largest exhibition companies and a presence in several countries with many and various events. In 1160, the Frankfurt exhibition first appeared and offered to dealers at that time the opportunity to present their local products and selling them. Over time, the show became more and more international significance, already in 1604 it counted 460 stalls of traders from various countries. Between 1830 and 1891 the fair boom came to a halt a short time, rehabilitated this fall with the first International Electronic Exhibition. After two more break-ins at the time of the Great Depression and the second World War developed, the Frankfurt exhibition continues steadily to its current extent. Today, the annual turnover of the company at 400 million euro and it employs 1,400 people. The exhibition center has ten exhibition halls.
Messe Frankfurt GmbH, organizer of a number of shows that are mainly specific field and only for certain sectors of great interest. These include the Paper World, Beauty World, the Automechanika and the Christmas World. Far better known is the ambience, a consumer goods fair, which represented the same name in different countries. On display are products from the housewares, gifts, kitchen utensils and accessories. It takes place annually in February, and about 4,600 exhibitors present their goods.
Apart from the Frankfurt Messe GmbH, the company specifically fairs organized the terrain, logistics and services for event organizers are available. These events include the Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest book fair in the world. This takes place every year in October and was founded in 1949 by the Association of German Book Trade. Presented annually over 400,000 book titles of some 7300 exhibitors from over 100 countries. The biennial International Motor Show will be held on the premises of the Frankfurt Messe GmbH, will focus on the Association of the Automotive Industry. Approximately 850,000 visitors recorded the show each event and the manufacturers present average of 100 world premieres. In 2007, the first time have been presented hybrid vehicles. The ACHEMA, an exhibition organized by DECHEMA conference focusing on environmental protection, biotechnology and chemical technology takes place in Frankfurt. The fair takes place every three years and has an average of 200,000 visitors.
